Hurry Hurry!!!

Well, I've had a very busy week so far (well we're nearing the end now - again!!) Grace seems to be on the mend thankfully and she has now gone for 4 days without a temperature which is a huge huge relief, it's so lovely to have a happy playful little girl back again. We've been busy having tea parties, feeding her "Smeggy" (her moo cow cuddly friend), been out and about doing her favourite things and seeing friends which has been lovely. Monday wiped her out - I think we had too much planned but I'm just so relieved to see her better and enjoying herself again :)

I was asked last weekend if I could make 20 Christening Invitations for some friends who are having their little boy Christened... a week on Sunday!!!! So we popped over to see them, came up with a design and this is what I came up with -

They chose what colours they wanted, the ribbon, card and we chose the image (gosh trying to find a stamp suitable for a Christening in a couple of hours was rather stressful!). Thankfully Kerry at LCI reminded me I could emboss an image rather than stamp and colour and I am so thankful she reminded me of this technique as I'd forgotten that was an option!!! Thank you Kerry :)
I think they went really well, I started them Tuesday night and finished them this morning! I got  a phonecall tonight to say they were both thrilled with the invitations and that they were "more than they could have hoped for" which was so lovely. I added 3D foam pads onto the title piece to lift it off the card a little. I love the ink colour - it's one of my favourites. I don't think the photo really does the invite justice.
Crafty Ingredients:
Penny Black - T for Transparent Set - Bundle of Joy
Splash Bazzill Basics CS
Blue Dazzle Ribbon
Blue inkpad (Versa)
Embossing powder - Silver Pearl

So that's it from me! Lots to get done - hope everyone is having a lovely week :)

It's TLT - Totally Ladybug Tuesday!

WOW - What a week!!! It started with a high (although a little stressful) but what an amazing first blog hop The Lovely Ladybugs put on for our Queen Ladycow (I mean ladybug) Kerry! We had so much fun and loved reading your comments, they were so lovely, thank you all very very much!!

We're having a weekly challenge for the DT to take part in. This week is Head Ladybug Kerry's choice and her challenge was called "Pink plus 1" - I'm amazed one of our DT HATES pink!!! (and she has a little girl, I think that's the bit that surprises me more as having a little girl myself, you can't avoid pink!!) I know everyone has their own preferences and personal likes and dislikes and that's what makes us all special :)

I knew what colours I wanted to use (and I think far too many great minds thought alike!!!) I shall be putting up a link to the other Lovely Ladybugs in the sidebar (If I can get it to work - I might need help lol!)

Anyway, onto today's challenge... My pink plus one is green! I chose my FAVOURITE LCI stamp - Wellies Robyn! She's gorgeous and the reason why I love her so much is she reminds me with gorgeous and completed Wellies obsessed little girl Grace!!! She loves her wellies!

So here's my card...

Crafty Ingredients:
The gorgeous Wellies Robyn - Ladybug Crafts Ink
Happy Birthday Sentiment - Ladybug Crafts Ink
Emma Burlap CS - Bazzill
Kiwi & Tutu Double Dot CS - Bo Bunny
Berry Preserves (both sides) - MME
Addi & Emma Papers - Crate Paper
Prima Pearls
Pink Double Stitch Ribbon
Twine (Prima E Line flowers at bottom of card)

I thought this might give a better indication of how the card is made - I used a technique of rolling pieces of papers to create some depth and a different look. I then wrapped twine around them and knotted the twine. I sat the matted image onto the rolls of papers and added some 3D foam to just help hold the image up.

I tried something different with Robyn's umbrella - I added spots of green and glossed just the spots! I added some flock to her bow and doesn't every girl wish she had a puddle like this to splash in!?!? Lashings of mandatory glitter - lovely!!!

So there we go - this week's challenge - mission complete!! Soooooo what do you all think!?!?
You can buy ALL the papers and pearls, ribbon, cardstock, stamps etc from Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn You can also view the complete range of stamps at Ladybug Crafts Ink

I have another reason to be happy about, yesterday was the first full day in (1 day short of) 4 weeks that Grace hasn't had a temperature - could this mean the antibiotics are finally working?! I'm keeping everythings crossed. She slept from 8 through to 9:30 this morning!!!! We've been getting up at 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6am recently and it's really run me down, so much so I got a horrible stye on the inside of my eyelid, it was so painful :(
On another positive note though I had an order for 20 christening invitations, I'm part way through, they were a bit last minute order, I have until Thursday to get them made, thank goodness we didn't go for stitching!!!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges please:

My Time to Craft - Kids At Play

Simon Says Stamp - Move It (for Robyn splashing in the puddle!)

Secret Crafter #101 - Anything Goes

Wild Orchid Challenge - Ribbon & Bows (for the ribbon on the card and bow in Robyn's hair!)

A Spoonfull of Sugar - Anything Goes

OK, I think that will do for this post! Have a great Tuesday - don't forget to stop by Kerry's blog to see her post and the other Lovely Ladybug's creations!!! Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!

Hee Hee - It's finally here Ladybug Crafts Ink FIRST BLOG HOP!!! WHOOP!

WOW!!! It's Ladybug Crafts Ink's first ever blog hop and I feel very very honoured to be a part of it!

First thing is first you should have arrived here from GAELLE. If you haven't arrived from Gaelle's blog then please join in the fun of the blog hop and start with KERRY (Ladybug Crafts Ink's creator!)

The purpose of our first blog hop is to celebrate the DT's first projects made with a Ladybug Crafts Ink stamp - Mermaid Nikki!!! We've been jumping up and down with excitement waiting for today and now it's finally here!!! I hope you'll join in the fun and celebrations with Kerry and her fantabulous DT!

We were given our first challenge to use the MERMAID NIKKI stamp and create away!! I haven't seen any of the other cards by the DT or Kerry so I'm jumping up and down with excitement waiting to see what my Lovely Ladybug friends have come up with too!

OK so here it is... this is what I have come up with eeeeeeeeeeek.....
Soooooo what do you think???
I used some Swimming Pool CS as my base, then used a circle pattern SU stamp to make my patterned paper. I then layered 2 different turquoise colour CS and added my Mermaid Nikki image on top!

Mermaid Nikki has been coloured, glossed, her tail 3D'd and glittered!
I then added a length of Bo Bunny Turquoise Double Dot Ribbon and tied this in a knot.

I then added layers of different coloured CS cut into seaweed shapes added copious amounts of glitter dust, beautiful beads and glossy glittered spots to the seaweed and also a few placed on the card.

Take a look below at some of the detail...

This is Mermaid Nikki's glittered and glossed 3D tail! I added a dusting of glitter for her eye shadow too!
You can also see the detail of the patterned paper I made - I used a Brilliance ink pad trio to create this effect.

And finally you can see the glittery and beaded seaweed!
*** I've put one last pic in - the seaweed

I had soooooo much fun (although a little bit of a stressful time personally) making this card! Our DT of Lovely Ladybugs is awesome and we've had so much getting to know each other, bonding and producing our first blog hop!

OK so now onto another fun part!!! PRIZES! There are a few things to do in order to win one of 3 prizes (a stamp from the Ladybug Crafts Ink range of gorgeous stamps!)

Firstly you need to be displaying the Ladybug Crafts Ink Blog Hop BANNER on your own blog (see the top left of my blog - you can copy it and add it to your blog - quick!)

Secondly, you need to visit each of the DT's blogs in order and comment on their Mermaid Nikki card post. Starting with Kerry.

Thirdly, after you have finished the blog hop, leave a comment at Kerry's blog

Lastly - there is a LADYBUG hidden in one of the DT's blog posts. HINT - He/She is in one of the DT's photographs of their card!!! (for this Mermaid challenge)  You need to find the hidden Ladybug and email Lisa (our fabulous coordinator) at lisa.coe@btinternet.com and tell her where the hidden ladybug is!!!

3 Lucky winners will be chosen at random from a DT member's blog!
The hop starts today and finishes at Midnight Sunday 19th September (UK time). The winner will be announced on KERRY’s blog on Tuesday 21st September - GOOD LUCK and most importantly HAVE LOTS OF LADYBUG FUN!!!

I guess you'll be wanting to know where next to go on your travels.... next on the blog hop list is LISA!!! Have fun!!
Lots of Ladybug Love and Hugs

Feeling a little...

...TEAL!
Hello! I finally got my teal card finished this evening (YAY she shouts jumping up and down!!) I've not had much trouble making a card recently until this card!!! I wanted to do a good job with this card as it's for a good cause - Sue (One of my Lovely Ladybug DT team mates) is gathering as many cards as she can for a sale to be held for Ovarian Cancer - the chairty ribbon colour is teal and so every card being made needs to have a teal theme! Oh great I thought to myself, no problem!!! Ha ha (those famouse last words!) Firstly I had a dilemma with the colour, could I find some nice teal coloured papers - NO! I eventually found some I liked and wanted to use (a lot of my stash is rather pink which I blame on Grace lol!!) Then I thought great, I had an idea of a layout in my mind so got busy last night, to then find out my sewing machine really didn't want to stitch through lots of layers... my sewing machine nearly took several trips across the dining room (not that I lose my temper!) So I gave up last night and thought, tomorrow is another day and I will be in a better frame of mind and my sewing machine might have pulled itself together a little! So, I had to start the card again (other than the image with thankfully remained useable). I did change the papers slightly and I'm glad I did!!! I added the glitter paper which is by MME to the paper I had originally started using yesterday (October Afternoon). I'm reasonably pleased with it, but I'd like your honest opinions ladies!!! Oh and please take a look at Sue's blog (Click here) - there's still time to make a card and it's for an excellent cause!

Crafty Ingredients:
Wellies Robyn (LCI) - I promise I'll use a different stamp for my next card!!
Happy Birthday Sentiment - LCI
MME Paper (glittered) not sure what collection (I think it's Laundry Line)
Daydream - Patio Umbrella (October Afternoon)
Bo Bunny Double Dot CS - Aquamarine & Turquoise
Bo Bunny Aquamarine DD Ribbon
Glittery Spots (Stash)
Pearls (Stash)

I doubled up the 3D foam and added another umbrella, I also lined the umbrella and rain with glitter (You've gotta have a bit of sparkle!) I added a couple of pearls to her raincoat which I think look rather cute. I found these glittery dots in my stash and thought they went rather well, I added 3 to the top right and bottom left corners!
Sooooo, what do you think!?!?!!? Honestly?

Still no deliveries!!! I have a feeling they're going to arrive all together and I'm going to be surrounded in new papers and other goodies, I can't wait to reveal what I've been ordering!!!
Hope you've all had a great Tuesday! x

Busy Weekend

Wow!! What a busy weekend I've had! Not much time to sit around and relax as such! Friday Grace was still rather poorly so we had a quiet day at home, Simon watched her for me in the afternoon for a few hours whilst I went and had my hair done, I've had about 5/6 inches off!!!!! It was very long before and now it sits on my shoulders, it's layered a lot so it's got lots of shape whereas before it was long and cut straight. It's cut just beneath my face around the front so quite short in comparison to what I'm used to! It feels so much better though, I had some highlights put in too. We managed to go and see my Dad late afternoon as it was his Birthday, he liked the card I made for him from Grace and Simon & I.
Saturday, Grace was getting much better and we took a trip up to a large garden centre which has an aquatics department, we bought Dad some fish for his Birthday. My Mum and Dad had Grace stay with them on Saturday night, I was a little concerned about whether to leave her or not as she still wasn't 100% but she was fine, she had a lovely time and slept until 9am this morning!!! She was so ttired this afternoon too that she had a nap on the sofa (we're battling over day time naps at the moment!) Simon and I went out to a friend's Birthday party last night, we had a lovely night, greeted with a Pimm's reception and the most delicious food, a HUGE variety of scrumptious handmade desserts (which were amazing!) and then a spread of cheeses and to top it off handmade chocolates!!! We were fit to burst afterwards! We had a good old dance and then cosied up around a fire. We were absolutely pooped though and decided to call it a night at around midnight, we were shattered - I guess the last week or so has been rather mentally exhausting, Grace is getting better though each day and finishes her medication tomorrow again so fingers crossed!
I cooked the most delicious roast chicken dinner this evening, including some fresh carrots pulled from my veggie patch, they're my first ones of the season and were delicious, so sweet and the seemed to "melt" they were so tender. Oh and my butternut squash has lots of flowers and the beginnings of the squashes are showing too YIPEE!!!!
Onto today's card... I made this for my niece who shares her Birthday with my Dad! I hope she likes it! I have some much needed housework to do tomorrow and several orders to get packaged up ready for posting tomorrow afternoon. I have several deliveries due this week of gorgeous new stock! It's going to take rather a long time to add everything but it'll be worth it, I'm so excited!!!!
Crafty Ingredients:
Bugaboo Elephant Stamp
LCI Birthday Sentiment
Imaginisce Birthday papers
Hot Pink Double Stitch ribbon (available to buy online at FF)
Pearl pink cardstock

I added some gloosy accent to the balloon and glitter to the balloon and cloud.
Oh and here's a pic of my dining room table this evening (needless to say we didn't eat dinner at the table tonight!!) I think I need to clean!!! (At least it's clean mess!)
That's it from me tonight, I'm off to bed, I'm pooped!! Night night and I hope everyone has had a great weekend xxx

What a day!

Well actually, what a week!! I mentioned Grace has had a nasty ear infection, well she'd finished her course of antibiotics and guess what... within 24 hours she was very sick again, with sickness, a high temperature and pain. We took her back to see a doctor at the hospital and she has a different course of antibiotics, I'm really hoping it knocks the infection on the head. I feel so useless and it's so upsetting to see her so poorly all the time. I just don't know what to do. I'm hoping something happens/someone suggests something at her next appointment, at the moment I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel and just feel so helpless :(

Anyway, that's my reason for the lack of a post yesterday. I managed to get this card made today although I coloured and planned it last night.

As a warm up for my first DT challenge with LCI, I saw a challenge on a  blog and thought I'd give it a go! I'm a bit annoyed at the photos though but I think I'll retake them tomorrow and repost the pics. I was really pleased with how the card turned out and I LOVE these papers!! They're for sale on my online shop however the manufacturer images really don't do the papers justice which is a real shame as they are gorgeous and the reverses (and most of the fronts) are perfect for cards with very pretty and subtle patterns! They're the Crate Paper - Paper Doll collection. I have the full collection available to buy online - CLICK HERE

It took a long time to make this card! They do seem to take longer and longer lol!!

I used glossy accent on the umbrella and of course mandatory glitter :) You can see the lovely detail to the papers on the pics!
Crafty Ingredients:
LCI Stamp: Wellies Robyn
Bo Bunny Double Dot CS: Kiwi
Crate Paper - Paper Doll papers: Emma, Olivia Grace, Addi & Katie
Double Stitch Pink Ribbon (also available to buy at FF)
Buttons, Brad (Stash)
Twine
Bazzill Emma Burlap CS
Prima E Line Flowers (available to buy online at FF)

OK let's see if this works - ha ha!!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges please:

Alice in Wonderland Chapter 28 - Little Girl Theme
Aly's Sunday Sketch - Pretty In Pink
Crafty Cardmakers - Glitter & Sparkle
One Stitch At A Time - Challenge 28 - Girlie
Creative Inspirations - Green, Pink & Cream theme
Paper Play Challenges - In Stitches

I think that will do for my first go!! :)
Nighty night everyone

A smashed shoulder!!!

OK, I better get to the reason for my title today and the explanation... As most of you know we live on a farm belonging to Simon's parents. They breed and sell cattle (for beef not milking) and sheep. Yesterday Simon's dad was at Ludlow market and went to check the lot number for one of the cows they were selling there and a very nasty cow came up behind him and bunted him from behind and knocked him flying to his side. A friend was with him and they said he went blue. Kingsley (Simon's dad) can't recall what happened completely however he thought his pelvis may have been knocked out (he'd had this injury in the past). Simon took him to the doctors today and he went to the local hospital to have x-rays to check his body for injuries, as it turns out his pelvis appears to be very badly bruised however his shoulder has been "smashed" and he's to go to the county hospital tomorrow "nil by mouth" to see the consultant who we're told is more than likely going to admit him for surgery to plate his shoulder back together!! The poor man must have a very high pain threshold to have gone for a day without getting it seen. We took Grace up this evening to see him and she took him around the farm on a walk (one of her favourite things, she loves taking him outside for walks!) which gave us chance to nip out and get a few things in the event that he is admitted tomorrow.

I went out this evening (a little late) to the crop I go to each month, I love going, I have a few hours "off" and can just sit, relax, talk, drink coffee and eat yummy grapes and biscuits and laugh away, I had "face ache" from laughing within minutes of being there!!! I do enjoy the crop and the ladies there are wonderful, so welcoming and chatty, it's a small group (there were only 4 of us this evening) I didn't actually achieve anything crafty today, however I did order some new SU goodies, a set of stamps, clear and coloured buttons and some more twine. I can't wait to get my new stash! I'd left a roast chicken cooking with Simon with instructions of how to finish it off and wasn't expecting great things when I got back but everything was cooked rather well when I returned (a little late - oops!) phew and well done Simon!!

Onto today's card... This is the final card I made for Kerry at LCI for my LCI DT audition! I changed my post last night (this was due for last night's post) as Kerry had posted a card with these papers and Sue my lovely Ladybug friend and team mate had used the papers and the stamps for her post, we'd only gone and done it again and I posted my card last night and Sue used the papers from the collection for her post tonight!!! Talk about great minds and good taste ;)
I love Martini Nikki, such a classy and sophisticated lady! And I love love love these papers (and clearly I'm not the only one lol!)
I glittered her blouse, martini and eye shadow, a lady needs sparkle! You can buy all the products to make this gorgeous card from my online shop.
Crafty Ingredients:
Martini Nikki (LCI)
Bo Bunny Jazmyne Papers: Mist & Symmetry
Double Dot CS: Olive & Boysenberry
Natural Lace
Jazmyne Buttons & Bling
Petaloo Box Daisy Blends Flowers
I was so pleased with how this card turned out, I knew Kerry loves purple and green and couldn't resist using these papers for a card! I hope you enjoy it and have had a lovely day and have a great day tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get to post tomorrow, I better get a card finished but for now, it's bedtime! Nighty night Xx
